GNC Romney Fleece

 

Next up for washing this month was another fleece I bought in 2025, a Gulf Coast Native and Romney cross from a shepherd here in Tennessee.

After skirting, I had about two pounds of wool, and I’d say it is quite soft. It washed up beautifully, and I spun about one ounce using a woolen preparation just to see how it behaved.

The yarn turned out fluffy, springy, and full of life. I also really love the natural color. It has that soft, warm, sheepy shade that feels perfect all on its own.

I’m excited to keep spinning this one and see what kind of yarn the rest of the fleece wants to become. 🤎🐑
