Spinning for TDF
I usually stick to spinning fleece from flocks I know or ones I’ve picked up at festivals or online. But lately, I found myself missing the fun suprise fiber mixes I used to get from Fiber Clubs. So for a little surprise and inspiration during July’s Tour de Fleece, I joined a mystery online Fiber Club for the month of June from BumbleeBee Farms.
It was refreshing to just spin without having to prep the fiber or choose the colors. I don’t normally work with blends like silk, bamboo, or multi-mix batts—I usually just spin the whole sheep as-is. But this was a fun change of pace!
This is 4oz of a BFL/Tussah Silk blend. I'm sure I could long draft spin this but I just havn't done that much lately and on this new spinning wheel I'm still trying to understand it all. I'm going to chain ply this as well. Here is one bobbin full. I will be sure to get another and then ply. I'll update the photos soon!
