Our property has several springs that flow down the mountain. One morning walk I woke to these strange foot or taller like ice sculptures that freeze up the stems in our fields. I've never seen anything like it but it is when it is so cold the water in the ground seeps up and forms these 'frost flower's' that are very delicate with just a touch they break apart like a million snowflakes.

MilkWeek |
I just had to touch the milkweek seeds before they flew off, they are so soft like silk, I was hoping the fibers were enough to spin, seeing they were so soft, but I think they are too soft and not really fibery enough to use, but they are beautiful. Perhaps I'll attempt to paint them. Just love hiking around our property here! Even in Fall it's beautiful, each and every step.
