Old Town Mystery Week 1

This year's Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt-along is called 'Old Town' The clues come out weekly, and sometimes she releases an extra one even but it's something I've been participating in since 2018. I just love the groups I'm in that do these all together too.

This year's colors are Melon, Red and Turquoise with a neutral white/beige background.

I have a lot of the blues, and I pulled what I could from my peachy/orange scraps to get the melon colors.

What I lack most is Red. I know several quilts I have made over the past couple years of her's have used a lot of red in this shade. I will have to get a few more yards of it I believe and maybe one more of the melon color to be safe.

A great reason to go to my local quilt shop!

Since Thanksgiving is so late in the month this year, she released the first clue a week early. She usually posts it on Black Friday and promotes trying to use up your scraps instead of going out and buying all the black Friday sales, it helps me stay home and use up what I have.

Here is a bit more than half my first clue done. You can see there are dozens and dozens of flying geese here!  I love using up my old fabrics, they remind me of all the projects I have done using them in the past.
