Artist Trading Cards

 

I'm so ready for Christmas, back to making more trading cards for the group I joined. The November theme was cats, this is my 2nd attempt at making more cards. 

 

Here is how I did it: I lightly sketch the cats first to get image I want to use, then I trace over the pencil with a dark marker to make a good outline. Then I take my lightbox and sketched/outlined sketch and tape it on. 

After that I get out my watercolor paper (I used Arches) and cut them to 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 cards. I tape a card onto the image on my lightbox and lightly trace my sketch onto the Arches paper.

I get out the good paints and have fun! After it is all dried, I take a micron pen, the thinnest one I have and outline the painting, more of a line and wash look.

Haha, at my anime girl because I'm just not great with people . Still, I have a lot of fun trying!

I can't decide which cats I like the most.  I have to give 4 away. I'm kind of attached to them now! I really need a painting partner! Anyone?
