Otter Love

Merry Christmas to my daughter! She was the recipient of my newest adventure in quilting by making this wall hanging for her! Making this felt as if it took an entirely different brain space from my traditional quilting.

Not so black and white from piecing exactly from a pattern, this collage was fun and I had total freedom to do what I wanted!

I've seen many online over the years and several years ago a local quilt store had offered classes. but since then has closed and although I've looked at all the shops around, no one has offered once in the past year that I have seen.

My daughter loves Small Asian-clawed otters. She is going to have them as pets one day. I found a free online coloring page with all kinds of otter outlines so I used them as a basis for my idea.

Cutting all the tiny pieces and placing them in ways that make the shapes more defined sure was challenging, but fun! I want to do more. I'm not sure what I would do next though. Below are some of the photos of my journey.
