A Quilt for Jayce
My Grandson is always very cute about all my projects and things I've made over the years. I showed him a panel and he had been asking Mayme are you going to make me a quilt?
I had crocheted him an afghan and baby hat, made a I Spy with my little eye quilt a few years ago and a dinosaur backpack, but not a full twin size quilt he can cuddle with yet. So I said, are you ready for one?
So dug through a few stacks and saw the panel of the tree of life with all kinds of animals and that was the one. It is by August Wren a fabric line of Dear Stella tree of life.
I have a fat quarter stack of the other fabrics in that line also. We went over one of my accuquilt books and he found this block that he likes. He picked the fabric and placement of the colors and he even used the accuquilt machine to cut out the pieces. Here is his block.
I have a good idea of how I might design the blocks around the panel, but nothing set in stone. For now, we're just going got keep working on blocks when he's here and we have time!
