Bee Happy!
Christmas 2017, well actually a few months before that I had ordered the full kit for this beautiful quilt by Lori Holt. You can visit her blog by clicking here to see this awesome quilt and so many others. I love her country feel and made several blocks of her Farm Girl Vintage book several years ago. I have full kits of the Christmas quilt she has and of Farm Girl Vintage 2! I just drag my feet on doing them because they are unlike anything I've ever quilted before really. I will admit I'm not well skilled in applique. I have dabbled in it a few times here and there, but this has many of the blocks done by such means, and I'm excited to finally jump in and do it!
Regardless I ordered this gigantic bundle of fabric and it's been sitting in the PO Box it came in since I wrapped it for myself for Christmas that year. It seems I have made it a bit of a tradition to order these kits every year. at over $200 for the material, 40 for the templates and I don't remember what I paid for all the thread and applique needles, this will be a challenge with so many different fabrics and cutting instructions. I'm sure many posts will highlight the process and fun!
Here is where I sat last night, cutting up each piece of fabric individually and placing them into their individual bag/block to be sewn once I get through all the cutting and organizing. I made 46 baggies labeled with each block's name and hope to cut at least one hour a day until I am done. I can't wait to get started on this! I am surely going to 'BEE HAPPY" to have this one displayed one day.
