My Journey

My love of quilts can be attributed to many things, mainly my paternal Grandma, Lois who ran a small consignment shop and recycled everything and incorporated it into her sewing. I remember being enticed by the tiny button collection she'd remove from articles of clothing, then reuse them to repair another shirt where it had lost one.

She quilted too, I have two of hers and one she made my daughter when she was a baby that were done by hand using old recycled materials. I guess I've always had some desire to learn to do things done years before.

True to that was my learning to spin my own wool and fiber to make yarn to crochet. Crocheting was comforting and easy to pick up and make things for others through the years but it wasn't until my Grandmother passed that I felt the need to learn her skill of quilting.
